A penchant for fake

Is this story for real? I smell rat, scam and fake in it. This is a story of a Japanese man who thinks plastic dolls are better than real girls.

He goes to the extend of ‘bathing them, powdering them so that their skin feels more human, dressing them in lingerie and then taking them to bed.’

And of course he has sex with them too - saying that he prefers these life-sized and anatomically correct plastic dolls to women.

Is this for real? The man is not named, but is said to be an engineer. He claims to have ‘a row of dolls lined up neatly on his sofa’, waiting just for him.

More worryingly, the report says that this man is a member of a secret group of Japanese men who have given up on women.

And a manufacturer is also quoted, saying that it makes 80 dolls a month in an eastern Tokyo factory to nine designs that sell for between $850 and $5,500 each. The more expensive models are made of silicon and have 35 movable joints.

Nearly all of the people who buy these dolls are single men and about 60 percent of them are over the age of 40, a company official said.

I have heard of these dolls but to read that men actually preferred living with the fakes truly sounds fake to me. It’s just like the cardboard-in-bun story from China.

Cleavage distracts bus driver

I found this Reuters story from Germany really funny.

There is this bus driver who couldn’t concentrate on driving because he was distracted by a sexy passenger.

So he gave her an ultimatum - get out of my sights or be prepared to be thrown out.

Or in his own words:

"Your cleavage is distracting me every time I look into my mirror and I can't concentrate on the traffic. If you don't sit somewhere else, I'm going to have to throw you off the bus."

So the 20-year-old young thing moved away and sat elsewhere but she is complaining over the humiliation.

The bus company, however, defended the driver.

So was he being cheeky? Or was he just being bluntly honest?

Going cold on vitamin C

What a con job. We have all been fleeced all these years.

If you, like me, were raised on the belief that you should take vitamin C (oranges in any form) to protect yourself from common colds, then I am talking about you.

A recent study shows that vitamin C does not stop common colds for most of us. I feel cheated!

The most ‘hurting’ part of this new discovery is that apparently "the benefits of taking vitamin C daily were so slight that they were not worth the effort or expense".

Tell this to the fellows who sell you really expensive vitamin C supplements.

Read the truth about this quack treatment here.

How to term this marriage?

She is 51, a grandmother who has married five times before this. She has three sons and five grandchildren.

He, on the other hand, is just 27, with another wife and two-year-old child.

She is a respected parish councillor from Chesire. He works as a scrap metal dealer in Jeddah.

They met while she was riding a horse near the Great Pyramid and got married last September.

Her name is Jane Felix-Browne, or by her Muslim name known as Zaina Mohamad.

He is Omar Ossama bin Laden, one of at least 17 children fathered by terror chief Osama bin Laden.

Now she hopes to get permission from the UK authorities to allow him to stay with her there.

And she has some ideals of using their position to help to heal the wounds caused by her father-in-law.

"All we want is peace in this world and I will do all I can to promote it." (Read here)

How do I see this? Pure bull shit! I agree she doesn’t look 51 but still after going through five failed marriages, I simple don’t see this one working out as well. Things in this marriage just don’t add up.

For her, it could be the sex and the publicity/fame garnered for being Osama’s daughter-in-law, and the money from book deals, newspapers/tv interviews and photo shoots. For him, she might just be the ticket to enter Britain, and then Europe.

Sexy actress, the kiss and unpaid boob job

This is an interesting item if you are a hindi movie fan. More so if you like sex-bomb Bipasha Basu.

News are leaking that she was caught in a compromising position with Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo at a function in Lisbon over the weekend.

In fact a photo of her smooching the footballer has been widely published in India since then.

The actress is said to be in an intimate relationship with a fellow Indian actor. (click here to see her with her partner)

Of course she denies any hanky-panky with Cristiano, stating that the photo was "taken at an opportune moment and taken out of context". (read more here, including the photo and a video)

And then comes the second controversy. Apparently this sexy actress had undergone a boob job some years ago (to increase three inches of her assets) and now her doctor is claiming that she has not paid him for the silicon job.

This sultry actress is known for showing more than ample cleavage in reel, perhaps that was what that attracted Cristiano in the first place, and to think that she got that out of a con job! (read about her unpaid implant surgery here)

I am sure all these will do no harm to her acting career in Bollywood. Maybe Hollywood beckons now?

Sizzling items on tables in Kluang

You have to give credit where it’s due.

The food court operators at a hawker centre in Kluang must be commented for their business acumen. Sensing that their food business was dwindling, they came up with a new plan to bring in the customers.

Nope, they did not sizzle up their menus. They had an altogether different sort of house speciality - girls, with revealing dresses, dancing away sexily on table tops!

According to a NST report today, the emergence of these sexy dancers have doubled the business at the food court.

What you get is this - a songstress wearing a black bra and short pants is shown singing and dancing in front of a group of men. She will then climb on top of a table and starts shaking her head and body, attracting men to join her.

The show is free, held from 10pm to midnight every Tuesday and Thursday.

However not everyone was impressed. NST quoted an angry elderly woman who said she was embarrassed seeing the performance when she went for a makan recently with her husband and two school-going children.
"It was all right in the beginning as the performers only sang. I started to
feel uneasy when they came to the tables and started flirting with some of the
male customers. My jaw dropped when they climbed onto the tables and started dancing," she said.
However the good days look set to be over now. The police raided the hawker centre last Thursday and arrested a female performer!

The food court operators will have to look at other means now to attract customers. Don’t bet against them in coming up with some other sizzling items for the tables.

Don’t feed this croc

This Nile crocodile in a Taiwan zoo has found fame for all the wrong reasons - it bit of the hand of a vet last week.

The vet is doing okay now after surgeons reattached his severed arm.

Is this what you get when you relocate wild animals from the original habitats?

Nile crocodiles are known to be man-eaters, but are also listed as an endangered species.

BBC reported that this arm-chewing crocodile was also doing well after it was shot after biting the vet.

It has found fame as a result of the incident, attracting many visitors to its enclosure.

Schoolgirls call Ribena’s bluff

Two High School girls from New Zealand have discovered that the truth over the claim by the makers of Ribena blackcurrant drink that the "the blackcurrants in Ribena have four times the vitamin C of oranges."

The students - Anna Devathasan and Jenny Suo - discovered that the syrup-based drink made by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) contained almost no trace of vitamin C, and one commercial orange juice brand contained almost four times more.

Looks like we were all taken for a ride by the drink makers with their health claims.

I am waiting to see how GSK Malaysia will respond to this news.

A bad omen thru the SMS

It is amazing how gullible people are. All it needs is one simple SMS claiming that something was happening and off goes our people to do something about it.

A few months ago, hundreds of Malay Muslims gathered opposite a church in Ipoh after being wrongly informed of a mass baptism of Malay kids there. Naturally this was a false news but it almost created a racial stand off.

The last Saturday, another SMS was making its rounds. It read that a buffalo had entered into the altar of Lord Sivan. As the day progressed and the SMS’s went up and down the country, the content too changed.

The one I received said:
“A bad omen. A buffalo has somehow entered into the altar of the Tillai Nadarajar kovil (Lord Siva) in Jelapang, Ipoh. Its bad omen. In Hindu philosophy a buffalo is the symbol of Yamadarman - the guardian of the dead. The animal should not enter a worshipping shrine......This is a bad omen for all the people in the country. All Hindu are advised to light up at least 3 agal vilaku in front of our house.”
The place of the alleged incident changed - from Sentul to Ipoh to somewhere in Penang. Finally it mentioned a temple in South India.

And then to absolve this bad omen, the SMS asked Hindus to light a lamp, or three, or even one for each male heir in the family. Not just using normal oil, but ghee.

I think this rumour was started by some ghee company to boost sales! Today Tamil papers denied such a 'bullish' incident ever happened in Malaysia.

But this is not going to stop our people from continuing to believe such SMS rumours, is it?

I await for the next rumour over my mobile now.

An excellent anagram

What an anagram, this is. Excellent, I thought, when I first saw it.

But first, what is an anagram? It is a noun and means a word or phrase formed by the letters of another in different order.

And now to the excellent anagram:

The cigarette company = I pay them to get cancer.

India’s she-man to lose medal

Indian athlete Santhi Soundarajan is embroiled in a gender controversy after having reportedly failed a test conducted at the 15th Asian Games in Doha.

She/He now runs the risk of being stripped of the silver medal won in the women's 800 metres. Looking at the photo, can you identify this athlete?

How embarrassing for India. This hugely populated nation managed to win only 10 gold medals, 18 silvers and 26 bronze medals -a shameful distance from China which topped the games with 165 golds, 88 silvers and 63 bronze.

It must be embarrassing for Santhi’s coach who claims he know nothing about the gender of his athlete. Worse still for the Tamil Nadu Athletic Association which is organising a reception for Santhi for winning the silver medal.

But you know what is the most embarrassing aspect of the whole issue? It is the fact that even with a supposedly man running the race, India still ended second in the 800 metres! The race was won by Mariam Yusuf Jamal of Bahrain.

The problems with loose rubbers

“The issue is serious because about one in every five times a condom is used in India it either falls off or tears, an extremely high failure rate.”

What is the issue? Don’t laugh. It’s about oversized condoms. Apparently international sized rubbers are too big for the men in India!

A two-year study discovered that about 60% of Indian men (men from India) have penises which are between three and five centimetres shorter than international standards used in condom manufacture.

You can read the full report on this study in a BBC report here.

For me, immediately two questions raise:

1. I know they have local condoms in India. Aren’t those made to fit international sizes?

2. If the question to the above is no, why not? Especially when you are manufacturing for your local market?

Reproductive expert Dr Chander Puri says:

“Smaller condoms are on sale in India. But there is a lack of awareness that different sizes are available. There is anxiety talking about the issue. And normally one feels shy to go to a chemist's shop and ask for a smaller size condom."

And I liked the positive spin put by an editor to this issue.

Former editor of the Indian version of the men's magazine Maxim Sunil Mehra said:

“It's not size, it's what you do with it that matters. From our population, the evidence is Indians are doing pretty well.”

Exactly my point too! Bigger, looser rubbers are causing population explosion in India. They should start getting something that fits perfectly.

It’s just an itch, says randy chef

Was he just scratching an itch or to put bluntly, a plain pervert?

I am talking about this Japanese chef who was caught masturbating in public in front of a shampoo girl at the Berjaya Times Square parking lot.

He was charged and he admitted to the magistrate of undoing his pants. But his excuse was that he had a skin disorder that caused him to “scratch” his private parts!

The facts of the case say that this randy chef had actually followed the 24-year-old girl on that day and pleasured himself beside her.

Must be one hell of an itch! Anyway, for his open display of self-pleasure, he was fined RM1,500.

He paid the fine, is still in his job at the shopping complex and might even go for greener pasture in Singapore

And his victim? Or any other victim for that matter must be left red-faced with permanent mental scars and inherent fear of parking lots!

When Jack sued Jill

We all know the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill. But now it has been given a 21st century touch by a British author.

The new version goes like this:

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water;
Jack fell down and broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after.

Jill sued Jack and Jack sued back,
The judge is going to fine her;
Now the pail's been sent to jail
For abandoning a minor.

We'll sue Jack and he'll sue Jill,
The hill is suing for scandal;
The water says he'll sue the press –
And everyone's suing the handle

Author Felix Dennis has given new words to many other rhymes. His book is titled ‘When Jack Sued Jill: Nursery Rhymes for Modern Times’.

The UK Sun rightly says that this new versions are hardly suitable for children.

What constitutes a sandwich?

According to an American judge it is anything that is filled between two slices of bread.

“A sandwich is not commonly understood to include burritos, tacos and quesadillas, which are typically made with a single tortilla and stuffed with a choice filling of meat, rice, and beans," ruled the judge.

The necessity for this definition arose following a legal suit if burrito (a Mexican dish involving bread and filling) is a sandwich.

According to one American bakery chain, arguing for a broad definition of a sandwich, a flour tortilla is bread and that a food product with bread and a filling is a sandwich.

The judge however stuck to his two slices of bread definition.

To read more about the legal suit - which actually involves business monopoly - read here.
